Overview:
The Cost Control Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and controlling project costs to ensure projects are delivered within budget. The role involves budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and collaborating with project teams to manage financial performance and optimize resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow projections.
Monitor and control project costs, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
Analyse cost variances and identify potential risks, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Track project progress and compare actual costs versus budgeted costs.
Assist in preparing monthly cost reports, forecasts, and financial statements for management.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
Support contract and change order evaluation from a cost perspective.
Implement cost control procedures, systems, and best practices across projects.
Maintain historical cost data for future project planning and analysis.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and reporting standards.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cost control, quantity surveying, or project finance in construction or infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in cost control and project management software (Primavera, MS Project, Excel, SAP, or similar).
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in cost reporting and analysis.
Excellent communication, coordination, and team collaboration skills.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor rates, and project management practices.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
