Pre-Contract Quantity Surveyor – Job description (JD

1. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
2. Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate commercial and technical offers, and ensure the selection of the most competitive proposals.
3. Prepare and maintain comparison sheets for suppliers’ and subcontractors’ quotations, considering pricing, quality, scope, and compliance with project requirements.
4. Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and ensure accurate measurement and quantity calculations in accordance with project specifications.
5. Assist senior estimators in the preparation, review, and submission of tender documentation, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
6. Prepare rate analyses, cost breakdowns, and pricing structures for new tenders and prospective projects.
7. Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to identify potential risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for value engineering during the pre-contract stage.
8. Liaise with project stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain technical and commercial information required for tender submissions.
9. Support the management team in budgeting, cost planning, and feasibility studies to ensure accurate project cost forecasting.
10. Utilize quantity take-off software such as PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and productivity in tendering and pre-contract activities.
