Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join a leading organization in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing process engineering expertise across complex Oil & Gas EPC projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective process design and execution.
The role requires extensive experience in multi-disciplinary Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects, including process simulations, design optimization, safety studies, and risk assessments. The candidate will work closely with engineering disciplines, project teams, clients, and contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, ADNOC requirements, and international industry standards.
Only candidates with ADNOC experience and ADNOC approval will be considered for client submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and approve process engineering deliverables for Oil & Gas EPC projects.
- Perform process design calculations, simulations, and equipment sizing using industry-standard software.
- Prepare and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Design Basis, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and other process engineering documents.
- Conduct process optimization studies to improve plant performance, safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, QRA, and other process safety and risk assessment studies.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Civil disciplines.
- Ensure process engineering activities comply with ADNOC standards, client specifications, and applicable international codes and regulations.
- Provide technical support during engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
- Review vendor documents and technical proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Identify technical risks and propose mitigation measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project execution by resolving process engineering issues and providing timely technical guidance.
- Participate in client meetings, technical reviews, and engineering workshops.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the engineering team.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Process Engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong experience in multi-disciplinary EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects.
- Proven expertise in process simulations, process design calculations, and engineering studies.
- Experience in process safety engineering and risk management activities.
- Familiarity with international engineering standards, codes, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project environments.
Mandatory Requirements
- ADNOC project experience is mandatory.
- ADNOC approval/certification as Process Engineer is mandatory.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant Oil & Gas EPC experience.
- Experience in handling complex process simulations, engineering studies, and safety/risk reviews.
- Strong understanding of ADNOC engineering standards, specifications, and project requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent.
- Experience in brownfield and greenfield Oil & Gas projects.
- Knowledge of process safety management and loss prevention principles.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
Shortlisting Criteria
Candidates possessing ADNOC approval as a Process Engineer, along with significant Oil & Gas EPC project experience in the UAE, will be prioritized for client submission.
