Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in the management of contracts across the
organization-for a specific category of Spend. Ensure that all contracts are properly negotiated, drafted,
executed, and administered, while also overseeing a team of contract professionals. The Contracts Lead
plays a crucial role in mitigating risks and maximizing value for the organization through sound contract
management practices.
 
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Contract Management Leadership:
 Provide strategic direction and leadership in contract management.
 Develop and implement contract management policies, procedures, and best practices.
 Ensure that contracts align with the organization's strategic goals.
 
Contract Negotiation and Drafting:
 Lead negotiations for complex contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, and high
value contracts.
 Review and approve contract terms and conditions.
 Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements and internal policies.
 
Team Leadership
 Reinforce the performance culture and actively manage department performance to meet or
exceed all performance objectives
 Develop team members to ensure business sustainability
 Encourage innovation and drive change management initiatives
 
Compliance and Risk Management
 Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting contracts.
 Implement risk management strategies to minimize potential contract-related issues.
 Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards in contract practices.
 
Post Award Contract Management:
 Oversee the administration of all contracts, including performance monitoring, compliance, and
dispute resolution.
 Manage contract modifications, extensions, and terminations.
 Ensure contract files and documentation are maintained accurately and in compliance with
record-keeping standards.
 Analyze and report on contract performance and compliance.
 Provide insights and recommendations for improving contract processes.
 Conduct Business Performance Review Meetings at a frequency based on the criticality of the
Contract
 
Cost Management:
 Monitor and control contract-related costs and expenditures.
 Identify opportunities for cost savings and value optimization within contracts.
 
Compliance and Risk Management:
 Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations affecting contracts.
 Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize contract-related issues.
 Ensure contracts adhere to ethical and legal standards- and also adhere to relevant ESG Targets 
 
Contractual Documentation:
 Prepare and maintain documentation related to contracts, including contract summaries, reports,
and compliance records.
 
SCOPE AND FINANCIALS:
SCOPE: The scope of this job covers one sub-category within 3 areas of spend categories across all Company
units in UAE:
 Raw Material purchasing [400M per year AED]
 Packaging, Engineering Spare parts and Maintenance Services [100M AED per year]
 Consumables
 Capital Assets [100M AED per year].
FINANCIALS (RANGE): (Financials relevant to the job)
ORGANIZATION SIZE: 1250 EMPLOYEES
 
INTERFACES:
Internal: Plant Managers, Sales Managers, Central Planning, Finance, Logistics, Engineering, Asset
Management, Manufacturing, Tender Committee and all departments requesting Procurement services
Reportees: NIL
External : Joint Venture Partners and Vendors
 
 

Skills

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Essential: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, law, engineering).
Desirable: Relevant certifications, such as Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified
Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), may be beneficial.
Job Skills:
 Strong knowledge of contract law and contract management principles.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
 Attention to detail and analytical abilities.
Experience in contract management software/tools is a plus.
 
Behavioural Competencies : Systematic approach, transparency, integrity, professionalism, caring &
supportive style, passion for excellence, change management orientation
 
Experience: 5-10 years or more of experience in contract management or a related field, depending on the
complexity and scope of the organization's contracts and projects.
