Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

 

Review and administer main contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and commercial documents, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, obligations, and deadlines.

Identify contractual and commercial risks and provide recommendations to management.

Manage contractual correspondence, notices, EOTs, claims, disputes, and maintain the contract register.

Manage project budgets, cost plans, forecasts, and commercial reports, monitoring costs against approved budgets and identifying deviations.

Review BOQs, quantities, drawings, specifications, and scope of works, and ensure accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates.

Prepare and review interim payment applications, valuations, subcontractor/supplier payments, and monitor committed costs, actual costs, and projected final costs.

Manage variations and change orders, ensuring proper documentation, pricing, approval, and commercial recovery.

Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, and follow up claims related to additional works, delays, disruption, and EOTs.

Review and negotiate subcontract agreements and commercial terms, and monitor subcontractor performance, compliance, payments, variations, claims, and final accounts.

Support tendering and procurement activities through review of tender documents, pricing, quotations, commercial comparisons, and identification of risks and opportunities.

Manage client and subcontractor final accounts, ensuring all variations, claims, deductions, contra charges, and outstanding commercial matters are properly addressed and closed.

Prepare monthly commercial reports and dashboards covering project profitability, cash flow, costs, variations, claims, and forecasts.

Establish and maintain effective commercial procedures and controls to minimize financial and contractual risks.

Skills

Skills:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

8–12 years of relevant experience** in construction contracts and quantity surveying, preferably within the UAE

Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial management, cost control, variations, claims, and final accounts.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Good knowledge of *FIDIC contracts* and UAE construction practices.
