Job Title: Lead Mechanical Engineer (Static)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer (Static) to join a leading organization in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will lead the mechanical engineering design and execution activities related to static equipment for major Oil & Gas and EPC projects, ensuring compliance with ADNOC requirements, international standards, project specifications, and quality objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the design, review, and management of static equipment engineering activities, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, columns, reactors, and associated mechanical systems.
Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must possess a valid ADNOC Approval/Certificate as Lead Mechanical Engineer (Static) and have proven ADNOC project experience. Applications without ADNOC approval will not be considered for client submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all mechanical engineering activities related to static equipment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, calculations, specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and technical evaluations.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to mechanical engineering teams and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Oversee the design and selection of static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, separators, columns, reactors, filters, and associated equipment.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, client specifications, international codes, and engineering best practices.
- Coordinate with process, piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation, procurement, and construction disciplines to ensure effective project execution.
- Review vendor documents, technical bids, manufacturing drawings, and inspection requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, constructability reviews, technical workshops, and project meetings.
- Support procurement activities by evaluating vendor proposals and providing technical recommendations.
- Monitor engineering progress, resource utilization, and deliverable schedules to meet project milestones.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
- Identify engineering risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
- Ensure adherence to project quality standards, HSE requirements, and company procedures
Skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience as Lead Mechanical Engineer (Static) within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or EPC projects.
- Extensive experience in detailed engineering and design of static equipment.
- Proven ADNOC project experience is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of pressure vessel, heat exchanger, storage tank, and static equipment design principles.
- Familiarity with international engineering codes and standards such as ASME, API, TEMA, ASTM, NACE, and related industry standards.
- Experience reviewing vendor packages, technical specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Strong understanding of project execution, procurement support, and construction interfaces.
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid ADNOC Approval/Certificate as Lead Mechanical Engineer (Static) – Mandatory.
- ADNOC project experience – Mandatory.
- Candidates without ADNOC approval and relevant ADNOC experience will not be shortlisted for client submission.
