Job Description

Post-Contract Quantity Surveyor – Job description (JD)

  1. Measure, verify, and quantify completed works based on approved drawings, site records, and project requirements using quantity take-off software such as PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), and other relevant measurement tools.
  2. Prepare, review, and certify monthly interim payment applications and payment certificates for contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contract provisions.
  3. Monitor project costs and expenditures, ensuring that all costs are accurately recorded and aligned with the approved project budget.
  4. Update and maintain project cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget tracking documents throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, and manage variation orders (VOs), including the assessment of cost and time implications arising from changes in scope, design modifications, and site instructions.
  6. Perform detailed rate analyses and cost assessments for variations, claims, and additional works.
  7. Review subcontractor payment applications, variations, and final account submissions, ensuring compliance with contractual and commercial requirements.
  8. Participate in value engineering exercises by evaluating alternative materials, methods, and construction solutions to achieve cost savings while maintaining project quality and performance standards.
  9. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, planners, and site teams to ensure accurate measurement, cost reporting, and commercial administration of the project.
  10. Maintain comprehensive records of measurements, payment certificates, variations, claims, correspondence, and contractual documentation.
  11. Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and settlement of final accounts with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  12. Support the resolution of contractual and commercial issues, including claims analysis, entitlement assessments, and dispute avoidance measures.
